I started Plinth because of all the things I had to learn with no good way of documenting the journey. If you've ever tried researching “how-to's” for things like CAD automation — real automation, something tailored to the way you work — you know the problem.
Most things are a sales pitch, or they're fragmented to the point that they're not directly usable. You settle for better than it was, not as good as it could be. Manufacturing is one of the last industries where knowledge is still guarded like a trade secret. Everyone reinvents the wheel. Alone. Slowly. Painfully.
But here's the thing: it's all physics. There's a calculation for it. The answers are discoverable — they can be derived, tested, and shared.

Build for the Long Term
Every system you design will outlast your tenure. Optimize for maintainability, document your decisions, and choose technologies that compound in value over time.
Automate the Mundane
Repetitive tasks are a tax on human creativity. Identify patterns in your workflow, write the script, and move on to problems that actually require your judgment.
Measure What Matters
Benchmarks are only useful if they reflect reality. Test on production data, measure end-to-end latency, and never optimize without a target.
Share the Knowledge
The best code is code that someone else can understand. Write documentation that answers questions before they are asked. Make your work a foundation others can build on.
